Langowan – Prabowo Subianto, the presidential candidate number 2, greeted tens of thousands of people in North Sulawesi at an event held at Lapangan Schwarz, Langowan, on Monday (5/2).
On that occasion, Prabowo said that the various riches owned by this country should be fully enjoyed by the people of Indonesia, not the other way around.
“At every opportunity and province that I visit, I always say that our country is proven to be very rich. But, for a long time, our wealth has been taken and brought abroad, and not enjoyed by all the people of Indonesia,” explained Prabowo.
In order for the people of Indonesia to enjoy the wealth of this country, Prabowo and his vice presidential candidate, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, along with the Coalition of Indonesia Maju (KIM) are committed to continuing the downstream policy that has been implemented by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“Pak Joko Widodo has set a policy (downstream) that will stop the sale of our wealth in raw form and at a cheap price abroad,” said Prabowo.
“Pak Jokowi once said to me, ‘Mas Bowo, Indonesia cannot prosper if we sell our raw materials abroad.’ Therefore, I, Prabowo-Gibran with the Coalition of Indonesia Maju, are determined to safeguard the wealth of Indonesia,” he continued.
Downstreaming is important because it can increase the added value of products or natural resources that Indonesia owns.
“We want to manage (Indonesia’s wealth). We want to take care of it, we want to organize that wealth so that its added value can be enjoyed by all the people of Indonesia,” he concluded. (SENOPATI)
