Hasan Nasbi, Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), has urged North Sumatra Province to speed up the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program by fast-tracking the construction of more Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPGs). This call was made during Hasan’s visit to SPPG Cempedak Lobang in Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra. Hasan emphasized the need to respond to the high demand and enthusiasm for the MBG Program, especially from communities that have not yet benefited from it. Collaboration between the central government, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), and regional leaders is essential to ensure that school children can receive free nutritious meals. Hasan also emphasized the importance of regional governments’ support in developing SPPGs, particularly in disadvantaged areas. Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution, expressed optimism that 200 SPPGs would soon be operational in the province, with a target of 1,732 SPPGs set by the central government. Bobby highlighted the ongoing progress in establishing SPPGs and emphasized the role of both governmental and private sector collaboration in the program’s success. Each regency and municipality in the province is expected to build a minimum of three SPPGs to contribute to the regional government’s efforts in providing free nutritious meals.
