Indonesia’s National Children’s Day holds more significance than just an annual event. President Prabowo Subianto aims to use this day as a catalyst for tangible actions to ensure the future well-being of the nation’s children. The government has launched three key programs, namely Nutritious Free Meals (MBG), Free Health Checkups (CKG), and School Revitalization, to directly address children’s welfare. MBG, overseen by Senior Expert Dedek Prayudi, focuses on providing proper nutrition to school-aged children, with a staggering 60% of kids going to school without having breakfast, leading to issues like anemia. The Free Health Checkups initiative encompasses various health screenings to safeguard students’ well-being, in line with the constitutional mandate to provide healthcare to all citizens. The School Revitalization Program, allocated with Rp 20 trillion in the 2025 budget, targets the renovation of 11,440 schools for children in remote or urban areas lacking proper learning facilities. These efforts are crucial to ensure children’s health, nutrition, and access to quality education, reflecting the government’s commitment to building a brighter future for Indonesia’s youth.
